Flushing & Mylor Pilot Gig Club and Nankersey Rowing Club reunite.
We are pleased to announce that the two gig rowing clubs, Nankersey and Flushing & Mylor, are to reunite officially at the end of the calendar year. Nankersey will formally dissolve as a club on 31st December, and all members will automatically become members of Flushing & Mylor. Chairs Dave Matthews and Jane Callaghan welcomed the news, saying: “We are really pleased to be back together as one club. We believe our members will all benefit and together we can offer people more opportunities to enjoy pilot gig rowing in our beautiful waters.”
Coming back together means that:
Nankersey was (and still is) a very friendly and happy club, democratically run, with the simple ambition of making rowing a pleasure for all those that come along. Whether you want to be part of a racing crew or just have a fun row (just out on the water or to a nearby place of refreshment!), whatever your age or ability, the re-united Rowing Club wants to make your experience with us one that you wish to repeat again and again. For those who do not want to go on the water, you are welcome to become a Supporter and join in all our social on land activities.
